Joint meetings of the Oceanside City Council, Community Development Commission (CDC), and Harbor Board of Directors are typically held on two Wednesdays of each month at 5:00 pm and are broadcast live at KOCT, The Oceanside Channel, on Channel 19 through Cox Cable. Replays may be viewed the following Thursday at 2:00 pm, Saturday at 11:00 am, and Sunday at 5:00 pm or viewed online on the City of Oceanside YouTube Channel.

Speaking at Meetings

In general, comment is differentiated between ON agenda comment (comments made on items that appear on the agenda) and OFF agenda comment (comments made on items that are not on the agenda but someone wishes to speak on.)

One must sign up at the beginning of the meeting, before the meeting begins, for both.

ON agenda comment will happen during the discussion of that item. OFF agenda comment is all lumped together at one point in the meeting.

Usually the public is given three minutes to speak in either case.

They have an overhead projector to use with printed material. It is possible also to do powerpoint presentations, however the process for that is not completely clear at this time.

If you would like to reserve a 5 minute slot in off-agenda comment, you can do that by filing an “Advanced Written Request to Speak” form (which is linked on the page below), which must be done either by mail or in person (no email or online process.) This form must be filed a week prior to the meeting you intend to speak at.

If doing a presentation during a five minute slot, you need to email that presentation to presentation@oceansideca.org before 10am on the Wednesday a week before the meeting. Powerpoint format works, file must be less than 5 mb.
